Welcome to Heart of the Woods, the home of stylish wooden jewellery in both classic and contemporary designs using natural hardwoods and dyed maple veneers. The wooden beads used in our jewellery are all made in our own workshop in the West Country, where the woods are fashioned into clean elegant shapes allowing their full beauty to be appreciated. Treated with a clear polish the individual colours and grains are enhanced and give a silky smooth finish.

The natural woods are chosen either for their distinctive colours or outstanding grain pattern with varying shades and tones, often with dramatic figure, so no two pieces of Heart of the Woods wooden jewellery are ever exactly alike.
For the veneer beads, thin maple veneers are dyed in a range of vibrant colours, then layered to form laminated boards from which the beads are turned to show stunning striped effects.
The muted colours of English hardwoods have a natural beauty all of their own.They are lighter in colour than the mixed woods with more subtle grain patterns. Shades can vary from light to dark within one wood type.

All metal beads and findings used in our jewellery are either sterling silver, gold plated sterling silver or nickel free metal.
